Abstract

Letter from G. Woolsey Hodge to William White Wiltbank, Secretary of the Vestry of Christ Church, accepting the position of Assistant Minister of Christ Church. Hodge notes that the one calendar month allowed for protests to his election had passed without any protest being received, and thereby transmits his acceptance of the office [p. 1r]. He asks Wiltbank to inform the Vestry of the honor he feels in being connected with the venerable and interesting parish. Hodge observes that the communication announcing his election made no mention of the salary attached to the office, but states he is willing to leave that matter to the Vestry, confident that they will remunerate his services as the resources of the parish permit [p. 1v].
