Abstract
In this letter dated April 24, 1848, Benjamin Dorr, Rector of Christ Church, writes to the Vestrymen of Christ Church explaining that he cannot be present at their first meeting, when it is customary to elect the Wardens of Christ Church [p. 1r]. Exercising the privilege given to him by Charter, he names William M. Meredith, Esq. as chosen by him to be one of the Wardens [p. 1r]. A docket note on the verso confirms the letter is from Rev. Dr. Dorr, dated April 24, 1848, appointing W. M. Meredith as Church Warden [p. 1v].
